★ capturing the golden moments ★
★ Hi! My name is Katie Thulin, I'm a freelance photographer based in Utah and Washington State!
★ If im being honest, the idea of the future always scared me. After graduation, I felt lost and surrounded by others who seemed to have it all put together, yet I had absolutely no plan.
★ In the meantime, I chose to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints hoping to find clarity in service. Those years changed me. I learned to love deeply, listen intently, and see God in everyday life. But even after returning home, the question lingered: What now?
★ The pressure to “figure it out” was pressing and loud, but God seemed to have something in store for me.
★ That something was the weight of a camera in my hands—familiar, grounding, like an old friend.
★ I had been holding cameras since I was a kid growing up, capturing moments without knowing I was telling stories. Photography had always been there; quietly waiting for me to take it seriously.
★ I started shooting for fun, then for friends, then for people who saw something in my work I hadn’t yet seen.
★ One photo led to another, one “yes” led to the next, until I realized: I was no longer wandering. I had found my path, not in a straight line, but in frames, in light, in emotion.
★ Now, I create with intention to cherish time, to honor stories, to share the wonder and BEAUTY I see in others.
★ I didn’t always know who I was meant to be, but somehow through the lens,
I found me.
